• The French TV station France 2 continues its partnership with PlanetObserver
Since 2006, the French broadcasting company France 2 is using PlanetObserver satellite imagery, such as the global 15m dataset, to illustrate the news.
This partnership is renewed in 2010 with the signature of a new licensing agreement extension.

• PlanetObserver selected for the 4th time by the EU to participate to the "Gateway to Japan" Programme, for the promotion of European ICT companies in Japan
As part of the EU Gateway Programme, PlanetObserver will participate to a full week of meetings with professionals of the Japanese ICT sector in Tokyo, from November 30 to December 4.
PlanetObserver has been present on the Japanese market since 2004. Its local distributor, the company Geoscience, has been very active in promoting satellite imagery based applications for the broadcasting industry. Many TV channels, such as TV Asahi, TV Fuji and TBS, are amongst our customers today.

• Thalassa TV programme live from PlanetObserver giant world floor map
For the start of Tara Oceans Expedition which Thalassa will follow around the world, the famous French TV programme was live from Lorient on PlanetObserver giant world floor map. A unique map of over 800m² perfect to illustrate every step of the way.
PlanetObserver satellite images will be the guiding thread throughout this scientific expedition.

Set up in 1989 by Laurent Masselot, the company PlanetObserver is today more than ever present on the market of satellite imagery, with its specificity : the Earth seen from space in true natural colours.

Zooms from the globe down to any point on Earth, amazing flythroughs over any territory, 3D discovery of natural sites, these are some of the scenarios of video clips we may produce today with our global imagery database.
You only need to name your points of interest and we create the 3D animated video clip as per your request in high resolution. We also have an existing collection of video clips, ready to put your project in motion !

• Mont de Marsan is the 10th French city to host the exhibition "Planet Earths future : can we afford to gamble ?"
PlanetObserver travelling exhibition "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble?" has put new colours to The Place des Arènes, in Mont de Marsan city centre, from May 13 to 27. Visitors have benefited from many animations on sustainable development organized by the city.

• The exhibition "Planet Earths future : can we afford to gamble?" settles in Vichy after 2 weeks in Saint-Denis
The travelling exhibition "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble?" is back in the Auvergne this week after a great tour of France.
Vichy, which be will the 8th city hosting this major event, opens the exhibition to visitors from March 20 to April 5, from 11am to 6pm.
Saint-Denis, the previous host city, used this large scale open-air exhibition to welcome pupils of all ages and have them rediscover our planet.

After an exciting 2008 touring programme, the travelling exhibition "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble ?" will open in the cities of Saint-Denis, Vichy, Carcassonne and Mont De Marsan in the first months of 2009. A good start in 2009 !

• PlanetObserver exhibits at the ICT Event 2008 in Lyon from November 25 to 27
Organised by the European Commission and the French ministries for Economy and Research, ICT is the most important European event with an international scope for Information and Communication Technologies.

• The exhibition "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble ?" continues its Tour de France in Strasbourg and then Le Havre
The city of Strasbourg will host PlanetObserver touring exhibition, end of October, as part of Strasbourg, spatial edition, a major event about Space that takes place for the French Presidency of the European Union. Place Kleber will be the heart of that event.

• Large-scale exhibition set up by PlanetObserver at Paris La Defense in October 2008
For 3 weeks, the Parvis of Paris La Defense will take new colours, those of our planet Earth, with the exhibition "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble ?" shown in a much larger scale thanks to the support of the Group TOTAL.
A huge 1500m² floor map (vs. 860m² for the original exhibition), made with PlanetObserver world satellite image, on which visitors can walk openly, and 14 "cubes" positioned on the map, represent the centrepiece of that event.

After Paris, Clermont-Ferrand and the science park Vulcania, the exhibition "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble? " is opening Place d’Armes in Toulon from September 13 to 28, 2008.
• New : the world at 15m in natural true colours !
A new satellite imagery product is now available from PlanetObserver : a global mosaic in natural true colours made from Landsat 7 scenes, offering a worldwide resolution of 15m/pixel and including Antarctica and all islands.
This georeferenced product is the perfect resource for IT applications, navigation and simulation solutions both in 2D and 3D, GIS, webmapping, media, etc.

"Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble ? " is a major touring exhibition, free for visitors, realised jointly by PlanetObserver and the science park Vulcania. This exhibition offers a world tour at the discovery of our environment and focuses on crucial issues linked to the future of the planet in order to make people aware of the stakes of sustainable development.
The exhibition is labelled "International Year of Planet Earth". It benefits from the support of the CNES and Spot Image, ESA, IBM, IGN, Météo France, Ministère de l'Ecologie, du Développement durable et de l'Aménagement du territoire, the French Senate and the City of Clermont-Ferrand.

• We exhibit at the CeBIT, the N°1 market place for information technology, from 4 to 9 March
PlanetObserver is present for the first time at the CeBIT in Hannover (Germany) on the stand of the region Auvergne (Hall 9, stand A30) to promote its world database at 150m and 15m resolution. Those products are totally adapted for IT applications such as 2D and 3D navigation and simulation systems, both online or offline.

• PlanetObserver exhibits at the SITEM Trade Fair 2008 end of January at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris
For the second year, PlanetObserver will present its range of museographic applications (3D navigation system over the planet, printed floor maps, thematic exhibitions with official label " International Year of Planet Earth ", etc) at the SITEM, the most prominent international trade fair in Europe in the field of musem equipment, from January 29 to 31, 2008 at the Carrousel du Louvre (Stand D22, Gabriel exhibit area).

• 2 new exhibitions on environmental issues, conceived by PlanetObserver, have been labelled "International Year of Planet Earth"
As part the International Year of Planet Earth (2007 - 2008 - 2009, with 2008 having been proclaimed the United Nations Year), PlanetObserver is offering to museums and local authorities the exhibition "The Earth seen from space, observations for the future" which focuses on today’s major environmental issues (biodiversity, climate, desertification, water management, pollution, urbanisation, etc.) based on examples at a global level.

Another exhibition with greater scope called "Planet Earth’s future : can we afford to gamble ?" will open at the Senate in Paris end of April 2008. It will then be set up in Clermont-Ferrand and tour in France in about twenty cities till end of 2009 (touring programme under development). The science park Vulcania, partner of this event, will host the exhibition in the summer.

ViaMichelin introduces PlanetObserver 150m global dataset combined with road and toponym layers on its map finder website. A new generation of map is launched !
• PlanetObserver, new member of the Spheris Club
PlanetObserver becomes member of the Spheris Club and presents its 3D viewer to the CNES on June 12. The viewer will also be displayed at the Paris Air Show Le Bourget, from June 18 to 24, on the stands of Thalès and Spheris.

PlanetObserver signs a partnership agreement for the distribution of its imagery database with Trinnovations, a California based company specialised in 3D navigation solutions developed with STK (Satellite Took Kit) - see sample video here.
• IMB partners with PlanetObserver
PlanetObserver and IBM sign a new partnership. IMB supports the launch of the new global imagery dataset by providing to PlanetObserver six IntelliStations to accelerate production.

Signature of a major exclusivity contrat with Spain’s most prestigious science park. PlanetObserver supplies a licence for the 3D viewer and will partner with CosmoCaixa for the design of Spain’s Pavillon at Zaragoza International Exhibition in June 2008.
