Satellite imagery of Armenia
Image of the month: Satellite imagery of Armenia, from PlanetSAT 15 L8 basemap processed with fresh Landsat 8 data
Located in South Caucasus in Central Asia, Armenia is one of the most landlocked country in the world, with highly mountainous terrain and deep valleys. About 90% of the country is above one thousand meters! The satellite image shows Armenia bordered on the north and east by Georgia and Azerbaijan, and on the south and west by Iran and Turkey.
Armenia satellite imagery is extracted from PlanetSAT 15 L8 basemap at 15m resolution, entirely produced with fresh Landsat 8 data.
PlanetSAT 15 L8 imagery basemap covers all Northern Africa, the Middle East, a large part of Asia, Australia and New Zealand. PlanetObserver continues the production of PlanetSAT L8 basemap and shall finalize Asia and Europe by the end of 2016.
